Veterinary Resource Centre ("VRC", "we", "us") runs this website so clients can book veterinary services, request virtual consultations and farm visits, order veterinary products and pay online. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your rights under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number, username and password (stored only as a secure one-way hash).
- Google sign-in: if you choose "Continue with Google", we receive your name and email address from Google. We do not receive your Google password or access anything else in your Google account.
- Booking information: details about your animals, the service you need, preferred dates, farm or delivery locations, and any notes, photos or videos you upload.
- Payments: when you pay by M-Pesa we record the amount, the phone number used and the M-Pesa receipt number. We never see or store your M-Pesa PIN.
- Student training applications and feedback: the details and documents you submit.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account and verify your email address.
- To schedule, provide and follow up on the veterinary services you request.
- To take payments and issue receipts.
- To contact you about your bookings, orders and account.
We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only with the service providers that run parts of this website for us, and only as needed:
- Safaricom (M-Pesa payments)
- Clerk and Google (sign-in)
- Cloudinary (storage of uploaded photos, videos and documents)
- Resend (sending account and booking emails)
- OpenRouteService (calculating driving distance for farm visits from the location you enter)
- Hostinger (website hosting)
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and booking records for as long as your account is active and as needed for our veterinary, accounting and legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. You can update most details yourself on your account page. For anything else, email us at info@vetresourcecentre.com.
Security
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords are stored as secure hashes, and access to client records is limited to our staff.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above.
